We are conscious that gyms, especially boxing gyms, can be intimidating places, particularly for first timers.
However, City Boxing is commited to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our clients. It’s a fun place with friendly people willing to help you.
You don’t have to dress up to come to our gym. You don’t have to be fit. You just have to want to be fit. We’ll get you there. You don’t have to be tough. You just have to be keen and have a positive attitude. You’ll harden up quick enough.

Lolo is a legdend in the fight game from boxing to MMA. In 2013 he was awarded the Legendary Life Time Achievenment from the NZ Pacific Island Sports Awards which is but a glimmer of his contribtion to the sport. As the Director of Combat he overseas the fight side of the gym.
Selby specializes in human performance and fight specific training. He holds a Level 3 and 4, a National Diploma in Fitness, and is a Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach. Selby also competes in Kickboxing, MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in which he holds a blue belt under professor Steve Oliver.
Joanne has a long standing history in the fight game and has been a massive part of many fight nights and tournaments from national amateur tournaments to corporate fight nights such as fight for life. Feel free to have a chat to Joanne about any venue hire or membership enquiries.

I’ve been training at City Boxing for the last five years, both with individual coaches and in group classes. Before City Boxing I had never been to a boxing gym, but because of the environment the staff have created it's become a second home to me! Their instructors make sessions challenging without being intimidating. It’s a place where it’s okay to ask for help, or for modifications - and yet know that "if you’re cheating, you’re only cheating yourself.” It doesn’t get any easier, but it does get a hell of a lot more fun.
